Title:

Content Protection Method to Control Editing by Billing

Abstract: In consumer-generated media (CGM), where consumers themselves generate and transmit content, it is important to promote secure content circulation. Content circulation includes the editing of content, and it is desirable for content to become more abundant and varied. For copyright protection suitable for CGM, a technology (Katsuma et al., 2015, Tatsuya et al., 2016) has been proposed that controls editing using digital signatures, and guarantees the copyright of the original content even for secondary use. However, in those scheme, the content that the author has declared as editing-prohibited once is always kept as editing-prohibited thereafter, and the circulation of the content is stagnant from then onwards. Therefore, we propose a method in which the author can securely provide individual editing permissions for content that has been sent as editing-prohibited. Specifically, when an author wants to transmit content as editing-prohibited, and then an editor wants to view it and purchase the right to edit the content, this method offers a way to securely buy and sell the right to edit content in exchange for money. Therefore, this method is applicable to commercial content circulation. It is possible to promote content circulation while protecting the rights of the author by using the proposed method, even in scenarios where content circulation is stagnant with conventional methods.

Title:

Critical Factors Influencing Mobile Marketing Technology Adoption by Micro Businesses in Nigeria: A Preliminary Study

Abstract: The paper examines critical factors influencing mobile marketing technology adoption by micro businesses using a qualitative method. Data for this study were adopted through interviews (unstructured and semi-structured) in two different stages with twenty micro-businesses drawn purposefully and underpinned by Technology, Organisation and Environment (TOE) framework. This assisted in unveiling 4 critical factors that shape micro –businesses’ adoption of mobile marketing devices in Amuwo-Odofin LGA of Lagos State, Nigeria. These critical factors include: ease of use, customer accessibility, firm’s sales promotion, and intense competition. These factors are classified based on the TOE framework. This study is vital to academics and practitioners because it provides further insight into mobile marketing technology adoption framework; and identified factors that could shape the decisions of micro-businesses in a bid to cope with technology adoption continually and reduce the enormous time spent in search of information during the adoption process.

A Hybrid Knowledge-based Recommender for Mobility-as-a-Service

Abstract: Mobility as a Service (MaaS) is the integration of various forms of transport services into a single “mobility plan”, that can be considered as a bundled set of distinct services/products, bought and used as a single product. The concept of MaaS is gaining an increasingly high interest however, there are still many challenges that have to be dealt with when designing and offering viable MaaS products, including the suggestion of the optimal MaaS plan that matches a user’s personal needs. In this paper, we propose a knowledge based recommender system that builds upon constraint programming mechanisms and provides the necessary functions to capture user preferences, exclude MaaS plans which do not match those preferences and infer the similarity of the remaining plans to the user’s profile. The final outcome is a filtered and ranked list of MaaS plans which allows the user to select the one that better matches her/his preferences.

Rethinking Forest Management: A Participatory Blockchain-based Governance Approach

Abstract: The forest is a high-potential area for many stakeholders, provides valuable contributions to the climate, is profoundly important for sustainability with respect to resources, biodiversity, and so forth. In contrast, today’s forest is frequently managed in a top-down organizational flow where some stakeholders are involved in decision-making whilst others remain uninvolved but still affected. Meanwhile, the process of digital transformation takes place in almost any realm and shows up new ways of participation and of how people can secure their interests. Against this background, we rest on scientific literature and the current forest management situation in Germany and introduce the blockchain technology as a potential enabler for a participatory management (PM) of forest. At the end, we discuss economic potential and incentives for forest owners since adoption is closely linked to acceptance of such models.

Digitalisation and Future Challenges in Rural Areas: An Open Innovation based Research

Abstract: In 2018, the revision of world urbanisation prospects report published by United Nations predicts the global scenario of growing megacities and the accompanying decline in rural populations. This development will profoundly change life especially in rural areas. As a result of research on the central experiences of the practice-oriented “Digital Black Forest” project, this publication addresses the future challenges in rural areas with a focus on local supply, health-related care and residential mobility. The project, promoted by the initiative “digitale Zukunftskommune@bw”, used an open innovation-based research to gather the views of around 500 rural residents in the German Northern Black Forest region. In this context, the project also examines potential approaches to the aforementioned challenges, which are based primarily on new technologies that have been established in the context of the ongoing digital transformation. This paper outlines the scientific exploitation of the results from the “Digital Black Forest” project, aiming to face future challenges in rural areas through approaches to digitalisation.

Title:

Multi-party E-Commerce Protocol for B2C/B2B Applications

Abstract: There are many multi-party fair exchange protocols with applications in e-commerce transactions for buying digital products, buying physical products, digital signature of contracts, certified e-mail and non-repudiation. However, none of the existing multi-party fair exchange protocols can be applied to provide fair exchange in complex transactions where a customer buys digital products from different merchants while maintaining atomicity. In this paper, we propose a multi-party fair exchange e-commerce protocol for complex transactions in that the customer wants to buy several digital products from different merchants. Our protocol has applications to B2C/B2B scenarios. In addition to strong fairness, our protocol provides effectiveness, timeliness, non-repudiation and confidentiality.

On How to Build a Curriculum of an e-Business Master Course

Abstract: The Business School of the Polytechnic of Porto, Portugal aiming at following the demands of the region decided to make available a master’s degree program in e-business. This paper describes the study held ascertain the most relevant skills to be considered in the master program. In order to obtain relevant feedback, an interview was conducted to professionals working in the field. Also, a questionnaire was applied to the students attending the last year of undergraduate after working programs, since they have already professional experience in related fields. The most relevant skills were identified, and curriculum was defined for the master’s degree according to the analysis of the results of these activities.

A Systematic Literature Review on Product-Service Systems Classifications and Types

Abstract: This paper primarily deals with a systematic literature review on Product-Service Systems (PSS) classifications. The initial question was, how can information and profound knowledge regarding the classification of PSS be acquired? A very extensive scientific and systematic literature research containing 125 works was carried out for this purpose. In doing so, we concentrated on the central question of how PSS can be classified. Here we have found out which PSS classifications are widely used in literature and how they differentiate. As a result, the five identified PSS classifications are described and compared. Derived from this, we have analysed the various PSS types from the PSS classification and made a comparison of these types for the first time in the literature. As a result, similarities and differences between the authors are presented and examined. This research will enable us to go one step ahead and develop a framework that can be applied to classify companies or certain business models in regard to PSS. Thus, a scientific contribution could be made to the field of PSS classification.

Abstract: In a fast-changing and increasingly digitalized world, companies face numerous challenges today. One of these challenges is the customer's demand for an integrated offer instead of the purchase of a single product. By offering product-service systems (PSS), companies are able to fulfil this need with an integrated and desirably unique value proposition. For the development of those PSS there are numerous process models in the literature, which present a procedure for systematic PSS development. This paper systematically identifies and examines available existing process models and compares them with the challenges that PSS are facing within their development as well as implementation and use-phases. This research aims to support the integrated and innovative development of future digital product-service systems.

Title:

Temporal, Semantic and Structural Aspects-based Transformation Rules for Refactoring BPMN Model

Abstract: Refactoring a business process model (BPM) may improve its usability (understandability, modifiability) performance, and/or ease its maintainability. So-far proposed refactoring approaches have used either refactoring which focuses on structural aspects and/or semantic information. Nevertheless, these aspects provide a partial view of the model. As we show in this paper, combining the semantic and structural aspects with the temporal aspect decreases further the complexity of a business process modelled in BPMN and enhances its performance. Our method uses a set of transformation rules. We illustrate their efficiency through well-established performance measures (temporal and cost) and structural measures (complexity).

Efficient Geometric Group Key-sharing Scheme

Abstract: In recent years, Internet of things (IoT) technologies that are used to collect various data have advanced significantly. In such networks, devices communicate with each other to exchange data. It is efficient for group-encrypted communication in IoT networks when devices in a group communicate with a common group key. However, if one device in the group is analyzed by an attacker, the group key is leaked. Therefore, a group key-sharing scheme that can change the group composition including a device deletion is required. Hamasaki et al. proposed a group key-sharing scheme using geometric characteristic. In this scheme, each device stores only the unique key and the key generates the coordinates for key sharing. The group composition can be changed easily using this scheme. However, the scheme incurs considerable computation cost when a large number of devices exist in the group. Therefore, we propose an efficient scheme that improves on Hamasaki et al.’s scheme for group key sharing and compare it with other methods.

Improved Organizational Design of the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Process in Ovarian and Lung Cancer

Abstract: A disease in each single patient can be one of a kind and an individual approach is needed. Tumors are in this case particularly risky. The main research problem, as a case study, was to demonstrate the length and composition of the current Polish diagnostic process for two most risky conditions: ovarian carcinoma and lung cancer, as well as to determine the causes for this. The main goal was to create a new, innovative model for time-improved diagnostic processes of ovarian and lung cancer. In order to achieve aims of this research, the BPMN and CPM were used. The main result of this study is a model of treatment processes in the indicated cases with organizational changes, encompassing all possible types of contact between the patient and the healthcare system. The entire diagnostic time for lung and ovarian cancer was shortened about 50%, which significantly increases the chances of quick diagnosis and effective treatment. The newly designed and presented in the text model is an example of organizational innovation where implementation of ICT solutions, allows to achieve and even improve an optimal path leading to the development of personalized medicine.

Editorial Platform in Blockchain for Application in Higher Education

Abstract: In the current publishing industry, all stakeholders are faced with problems ranging from copyright management, to piracy, to the lack of transparency of the actual number of sales and the unfair division of profit between the publisher and the author. In this paper, we propose an editorial platform for application in higher education based on Blockchain technology in order to eliminate the problems that publishers, writers, translators and readers currently deal with. The proposed platform aims to eliminate the prices and rules that publishers impose on authors, redefining their responsibilities so that they are only in charge of the printing and distribution of content. This proposal also allows to the royalties received by the author to increase by 50-90% of the value of the sale, a substantial increase compared to the 10-25% they receive in the current panorama. In this way, new writers and other lesser-known writers who produce content related to the field of education will have a greater opportunity to publish their content and be fairly rewarded.

Secret Verification Method Suitable for the Asymmetric Secret Sharing Scheme

Abstract: Conventional secret sharing schemes, such as Shamir's secret sharing scheme, cannot prevent the leak of shares when they are deposited on servers. In contrast, in an asymmetric secret sharing scheme, the owner of the secret has a stronger authority than the server, and the number of servers storing the share can be set to less than k. Therefore, even if all the shares stored in the server leak, the secret is not leaked. This can prevent the leakage of secrets from attacks on servers. In the conventional secret sharing scheme, a correct secret cannot be reconstructed if the attacker outputs a false share at the time of reconstruction by hijacking the server. This problem cannot be addressed even if asymmetric secret sharing is used. Therefore, we extend the asymmetric secret sharing scheme in a manner enabling the owner to detect a secret when an attacker outputs a false share. In the proposed scheme, a server is not required to store information other than the share if n > k. In other words, no burden is imposed on the server for verification. In addition, the hijacked servers can be identified under certain conditions, realizing an efficient verification method for secrets that is suitable for the asymmetric secret sharing scheme.

Qualification and Selection of Open Source Software (QSOS) is a methodology designed to qualify, select and compare Open Source solutions in an objective and argued way, based in the functionalities and maturity of the software. This paper provides an evaluation of three Open Source Project Management tools: OpenProject, OrangeScrum, and ProjeQtor using QSOS methodology.

Towards More Sustainability: A Literature Review Where Bioeconomy Meets Blockchain

Abstract: On the one hand, society has gradually grown awareness and importance of sustainability and natural resources. On the other hand, blockchain technology gains increasingly interest and the impacts may have not completely examined ecological, economical, and social. To present the state-of-the-art and hot topics within bioeconomy and blockchain, we reviewed them equally and outlined future research threads. Based on a systematic literature review combined with text mining and clustering, to enhance our data collection phase, we describe a dedicated research thread and end up with real-word and possibly future-potential implications driven by blockchain technology. Overall, this review gives important insights on how blockchain was and could be engaged to add value towards sustainability at bioeconomy and natural resources.
